The above lines says that Malenadu is one of the beautiful place which contain mountains, everywhere greeneries. Nature is enriched by trees, water stream and giggling of birds. It was a time KP was undoubtedly “heaven on the earth and home town for trekkers”. The entire images of the mountain was on a different scale and today KP is nowhere comparison to the beauty of old KP and also these days it is filling with plastic waste and alcoholic bottles because of some trekkers and adventure enthusiast’s irresponsible visitors towards Mother Nature.

“Kumara Parvatha “is one of the amazing and toughest treks I have ever done. Thanks to the Kp Clean-up Group for your great initiative. Initially I thought have to spend 2 days with 10-15 strangers but believe me all those strangers turned into a friends and family in couple of hours. The way treks organised by KP Team was awesome and enthusiastic.

I personally believe that nature will be destroyed when human beings discover it but on the other side I feel everything that has a beginning, has an ending. Same thing is happening in Kumara Parvatha. May be Human being (We) came to earth for exploiting nature and its beauty. Humans are greedy for money, food, power, name and fame unfortunately humans are not satisfied with what they have hence deforestation happens everywhere.

“If you can’t reuse it refuse it!”  We are enjoying the Nature because its our ansistors gift to us.lets gift this nature to our next generation as well. Here are few ideas what can be done.

What you can do/how can you help:

Ignore what other do just do it: It is simple just Carry trash bags and gloves with you. If you observe any litter just pick up. Don’t hesitate what other thinks because it is your social contribution to nature and believe me people who are observing you they appreciate, they may not throw trash or maybe you will be the inspiration for them. Always believe “a small thing makes a big difference.” We have seen so many people already doing these activities. I appreciate them for the work they are doing and they deserve it.

Turn it into an event: if you are planning for trekking with your friends and family make it like an event. You can enjoy trekking along with cleaning. You also get self-satisfied and remain as a memory.

Carry reusable water bottles: Main thing we observed in Kp is mineral water bottles. After using bottles they will not carry until trek finishes so humble request to stop using mineral water bottles start using reusable water bottles.

Hangout with your friends in nature:  Hangout with your friends in nature with its pleasant beauty not with alcohol. Alcohol bottles are another major problem. There are so many places to drink and enjoy (Pub, Bar and Restaurant, etc.). Don’t spoil nature.

Chocolate wrappers/Snack wrappers: If everyone thinks in the same way like nothing will happen if I am only one throwing it or already so many people did what will happen let me also throw it anyhow no one is observing me :-p . It is wrong human mentality because plastics are non-degradable and it impacts herbal and medicinal plant life.

Green Bags: Kp Clean up Group have already donated Green bags. You can also collect green bag from forest department to put trash in it and you can handover to Forest department again. Please don’t forget to handover back because it is also one of the way maintaining trekking trail clean.

Join KP Clean-up: If you are interested and not having companion with you, don’t worry you can also join http://kumaraparvatha.com/

Donate for KP Clean-up: If you are interested but time is not permitting you, you can help in other way by donating money http://kumaraparvatha.com/donate/ for keeping Dustbins and Trash clean-up. You can also check KP clean-up bank statement http://kumaraparvatha.com/statement/and for what purpose amount is utilized.

Forest Department in KP are doing very good job and they are very much supportive. Without their help it could not be so easy. Thanks for all people who are directly and indirectly joining hands for good cause.
